ISLAMABAD: A complaint of misconduct was made against the chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) and seven other justices of the supreme court on Friday, asking the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) to remove them from their positions.According to Article 209 of the Constitution, Mian Dawood advocate filed a complaint against the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Umer Ata Bandial, Justices Ijazul Ahsen, Munib Akhtar, Sayyed Mazahir Ali Akbar Naqvi, Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Justice Mrs. Ayesha A Malik, Justice Syed Hassan Azhar Rizvi, and Justice Shahid Waheed.He said that the proposed judges had consistently broken both the Supreme Court judges' Code of Conduct and Article 209 of the Constitution.He argued that the recent Supreme Court proceedings and the actions of eight judges, including the chief justice of Pakistan, had demonstrated that they had engaged in public debates about their judicial conduct in violation of both the Constitution and the Code of Conduct.
