King Charles reaches a significant milestone in his rule when stamps bearing his likeness are put on sale. From this point forward, King Charles III's image will be on all regular Royal Mail stampsA significant turning point in the monarch's reign was marked by the general release of new Royal Mail stamps bearing a portrait of King Charles III on Tuesday.

All regular Royal Mail stamps will now feature the 74-year-old monarch's likeness, but the stock of stamps honouring the late Queen will be sold first.Charles III's cranium and neck are depicted on first- and second-class stamps in the manner of the late Queen and all British kings and queens since Queen Victoria. The ruler is positioned to the left, as is customary for stamps, but unlike the Queen's stamp, he is not donning a crown.
The King's portrait was altered the day after first and second class postage prices increased. The Royal Mint produced coins based on the same picture of a Martin Jennings profile sculpture. To be applied to the new stamps, it was modified and illuminated again. Following the passing of his mother in September of last year, this is the first time the King's image has appeared on stamps.
