court system being politicised

court system being The political conflict between the PML-N and PTI is now engulfing every aspect of government and bringing about unheard-of turmoil in the nation.

Whether senior justices are aware of it or not, the court has evolved into the newest arena of conflict between the two groups. Senior justices are now viewed as pieces on a chessboard that can be moved or eliminated as the players see fit. More shots have been fired from London and Lahore, with PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif blaming the Supreme Court for all of the nation's problems after 2017, and the PTI leader charging that his rival party is "threaten[ing]" the Court in a manner similar to how it silenced former Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah in 1997. Fears of street fights have grown as both sides have urged their supporters to "come out" and "take a stand" in their behalf. The current administration and those who support it are portraying their sudden interest in Supreme Court matters as a long overdue attempt to change the court's "practices and procedures."It appears to be a very thin façade more and more each time. Ongoing assaults against judges who are perceived as being "sympathetic" to the PML-N have been made in response to a parallel campaign to portray some judges as being "sympathetic" to Imran Khan and the PTI. There are now open attacks on even the families of current and retired Supreme Court justices, who are accused of swaying court decisions with their own political preferences. This verbal battle has grown more and more ugly.
